Our People

The Confucius Institute in Auckland was established in 2007 at the University of Auckland in partnership with China’s Confucius Institute Headquarters/Hanban and Fudan University. The University of Otago joined the Board in 2011 and formally launching an office in 2013.

As from July 2020, Confucius Institute Headquarters’ delegations were transferred to the newly established Chinese International Education Foundation (CIEF).
